Officials in Texas are hoping to find funding to remove at least a dozen decaying or partially sunken barges in Dickinson Bay near Galveston. The barges are not leaking, but are no longer in service. Dickinson Bay is a Federal waterway, but since it is not an active shipping channel, no Federal funds have been allocated to remove the barges.
